KPPACC Cert Nursing Assistant

The KPPACC Certified Nurse Assistant supports the work of the KPPACC Registered Nurse to meet the needs of patients in order to provide safe, quality care.
Essential Functions:
- Implements resident care activities under the direction of the registered nurse licensed vocational nurse.
- Provides care to residents following facility policies procedures, in accordance w/C.N.A. certification standards.
- As appropriate, reports residents' needs concerns to a licensed nurse.
- In accordance w/facility policy, reports all unusual occurrences to licensed nurses /or facility administration.
- As directed by RN or LVN, collects admission data through interview of resident /or family /or from other health care providers.
- As directed, obtains, records reports residents' vital signs.
- Documents all nursing data collected per practice facility standards.
- Collects reports data to RN or LVN for development of plans that meet resident/family needs.
- Implements documents safe, therapeutic, efficient care as directed by RN or LVN. - Supports appropriate priorities for resident care.
- Anticipates need for emotional support.
- Supports the psychological, social, spiritual, cultural needs of resident family.
- Takes preventative measures in providing resident care.
- Protects skin mucous membranes.
- Protects residents from falls or other contact injuries.
- Uses positioning /or exercise to prevent injury or the complications of immobility.
- Removes/reports environmental hazards in the resident care area.
- Implements interventions appropriate to specific age groups developmental status of residents.
- Encourages resident/family to safely participate in treatments as directed.
- Provides transport to from nursing units.
- Observes, records, reports resident/family response to nursing care.
- Maintains call light within resident's reach uses designated communication mechanism for residents w/impaired hearing, speaking skills or language barriers.
- Feeds residents who are not able to feed themselves.
- Transfers residents in accordance w/facility policies procedures.
- Ambulates residents as directed by RN, LVN, or other authorized person.
- Reports all absences in accordance w/facility protocols.
- Refuses to perform tasks that fall outside the scope of the C.N.A. certification standards.
- Must have effective oral written communication skills w/ coworkers, other health care team members, residents.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Preferred one-year (1) experience in a skilled nursing facility.
- Three years or more experience preferred.
- HS diploma or equivalent.
- Current California State NA certification required.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
