Role synopsis: The KYC team is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely and effective on boarding of new trading counterparties and also ensuring that records of existing trading counterparties are accurately maintained and efficiently. The KYC team is a key part of the Global Account Opening function within Trading strategic business unit.

The KYC Analyst within Trading is a crucial role and responsible for conducting the initial review of new and existing counterparty due diligence in accordance with current UK and International AML /KYC rules and regulations and Trading standards. The role requires hardworking, ethical and honest staff that are enthusiastic and self-motivated in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

Key accountabilities:
- Conduct effective KYC / AML due diligence procedures including screening for new and existing counterparties and ensuring that internal and external KYC /AML requirements are effectively met;
- Review and classify counterparties ensuring that classifications are accurate and in line with the nature of business conducted with the counterparty;
- Maintain accurate and complete KYC / AML due diligence records on new and existing counterparties and ensuring that relevant databases are updated to reflect completion of review and any additional relevant details;
- Conduct periodic KYC / AML testing, monitoring and surveillance;
- Develop and deliver effective AML / KYC training to Trading staff and businesses;
- Prioritise work and balance his / her time in ensuring that all assignments are completed in a timely manner and meet expectations;
- Maintain effective interaction and communication with key front office stakeholders.

Essential education:
- Degree qualified.
- Strong technical understanding of the UK and international KYC/AML rules and regulations.
- Membership of a technical or professional AML /KYC body will be an added advantage

Essential experience and job requirements:
- Significant experience of working in a KYC / AML function with a client service orientation, ideally within a financial services or commodities trading business.
- Hard working with positive attitude, strong work ethic with attention to detail, good interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build good working relationship with the business.
- Must have creative ability in finding solution to counterparty on boarding challenges in emerging market.
- Able to work well under pressure and with less supervision.
- Strong UK and international KYC / AML knowledge and experience.
- Excellent analytical, process and project management skills with an eye for details.
- Ability to multi tasks and manage multiple priorities and ensuring effective KYC processes and procedures.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills including ability to influence through communications and collaboration with colleagues and other internal customers.
