PURPOSE: To provide analysis of samples per testing procedures for the Company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Below is a list of essential duties of this position. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
1. Receive and log samples in database.
2. Analyze samples using appropriate sample preparation and testing procedures.
3. Routinely review and update testing procedures as needed.
4. Maintain chemical, analytical, and computer equipment inventory.
5. Monitor and maintain laboratory testing equipment.
6. Review, follow, implement, and enforce safety procedures in the lab.
7. Generate, review, and submit reports to appropriate personnel.
8. Notify appropriate personnel of potential problems noticed during analysis of samples.
9. Ensure adequate space for retain of terminal samples. Retain samples should be inspected weekly and discarded appropriately as needed.
10. Responsible for lab housekeeping duties and maintenance of the lab as a company showpiece.
11. Sample submission to outside labs for analysis that we cannot perform or for samples that require confirmatory testing.
12. Contributions of innovative ideas with regard to all company operations as well as an innovative approach to research and development functions.
13. Monitor and disposal notification of lab waste.
14. Interact and communicate with clients and co-workers in a professional and appropriate manner and respond to and give feedback in a respectful and positive manner.
15. Take the initiative to identify problems, use judgment to find appropriate solutions and follow through on resolving issues in a timely manner.
16. Support team efforts, actively work to generate respect and enthusiasm, cooperate with others, and actively learn from other team members.
17. Report to work on time prepared to perform the duties of the position and willing to perform the duties as workload necessitates.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/LICENSES:
High school degree or G.E.D accepted depending on previous experience.

While performing the duties of this position, the individual is regularly required to stand, sit, carry, reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and use equipment and communicate (talk and hear). This position involves standing/walking for approximately 80% of the day and sitting for approximately 20% of the workday. Frequently the employee is required to push, pull, lift, or twist. Occasionally the employee is required to lift or exert force up to 50 pounds. Specific vision ability required is close vision of 20 inches or less and vision ability of greater than 3 feet. Dangerous chemicals are used routinely. Individuals must be able to handle these in a safe and responsible manner to prevent injury to themselves and other coworkers.
