Fuel / Fuel Additive Chemistry Technician - Position Summary

The person in this position will provide analytical and technical support to Fuels Technology and Additives, and reports to the Fuels / Additives Team Lead with day-to-day work direction primarily coming from the Fuel Additive Research Chemist. The job responsibility includes a wide range of chemical laboratory work involving blending, testing, and analyzing fuel additives in support of customer technical service, product development, and fuel additive RD projects. There may be direct interactions with sales, marketing, research, product development, suppliers, and customers.

Requirements:
General chemical laboratory skills are required, including calculations and blending, testing and analyzing additives. Specific laboratory skills in both chromatography and IR spectra acquisition and interpretation are very desirable, as is the ability to organize, analyze, and summarize chemistry lab data. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required as is the ability to work independently and to prioritize and complete multiple projects.

It is anticipated that the person in this position will occasionally perform similar activities in support of additional project leaders as time permits or priorities demand.
