Labor Relations Representative

Specific Job Description Actively engage with supervisors/managers and represented personnel in designated area of responsibility providing contract/policy guidance, conducting investigations, resolving formal and informal complaints, and assisting with disciplinary matters in a factory environment. Meet on grievances at all steps with union representatives, including arbitration as assigned. Fill requisitions for hourly-represented job classifications adhering to contractual provisions where internal candidates are available, to include transfers, promotions, and recalls. Accurately and effectively implement contractual pay provisions. Conduct wage and classification audits for proper job leveling and cost containment. Negotiate labor contracts and miscellaneous agreements as assigned. Represent the company at Unemployment Insurance Appeal hearings. Standard Job Description Studies, prepares for, and advises on matters pertaining to contract negotiation, grievance cases, arbitrations, conciliations, federal and state labor legislation, etc. Represents management in collective bargaining with unions representing company employees. Prepares briefs and conducts or participates in the conduct of presentations at hearings. Represents the company in dealings with governmental agencies. Participates in informational programs and preparation of employee handbooks and manuals to effect cooperation and coordination in union-employee management relations.
