Laboratory Accreditation Product Leader


The position of “Laboratories Accreditation” Product Leader offers a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with technical background to gain valuable experience, and to build a career, in a cutting edge area at one of the most prestigious companies in the payment industry.
The chosen candidate will be given the chance to work within one of the more advanced technical team within MasterCard and in constant contact with Labs at the forefront of technology in a variety of projects including mobile payment. The role will also offer the chosen candidate the opportunity to be in contact with a large internal audience as an entry point on the Laboratory accreditation process.

Major accountabilities
To work in the MasterCard Terminals, Cards and Mobile Certification team with the objective to directly manage the accreditation of external laboratories. The role is a global one as the laboratories are located in all the different MCW regions. 

The chosen candidate will be in contact with the external laboratory senior management.

This will cover:
1. Manage the accreditation of third-party laboratories to enable them to test Cardholder Devices (card and Mobile Handsets) and Acceptance Devices
• Develop and maintain appropriate and up to date documentation covering contract agreement, laboratory requirements and Process description
• Negotiate the laboratory contract with qualified candidate laboratories, at senior management level
• Define and develop specific project plans for each laboratory accreditation request.
• Manage the implementation projects up to completion, identify possible deficiencies or non-compliance cases and negotiate remediation, give green light for live operation for MasterCard branded products and monitor closely first months of operation
• Define and implement Process improvement actions related to the accreditation process
• Define and manage rules and processes to ensure consistency between all the laboratories

2. Manage the qualification of auditors in charge of auditing compliance of Laboratories organisation and procedures to MasterCard Operational Requirements
• Define and maintain the auditor requirements
• Select auditors and get them through the qualification process
• Define training program for the auditors and get them through the training
• Review the auditor audit report and recommend their accreditation to senior management
• Monitor the lab corrective action plans and take any appropriate actions to maintain laboratory accreditation

3. Manage the accredited laboratories on an ongoing basis
• Review and discuss compliance to the contractual Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the Laboratory senior management, and ensure that appropriate actions are taken if needed
• Define and manage a dashboard for the laboratories and collect operational statistics and product details on a regular basis
• Manage quarterly project plan meeting review with laboratories, ensure that changes requests and process improvements are correctly introduced as planned

4. Manage communication and status with MCW business units and MCW regions

5. Manage and maintain the administrative tasks related to the accreditation process (list of accredited labs, domain of expertise, etc…)

6.  Define manage the terminal platform for integration tests of cards and mobile devices.

7. Define manage the Card Mobile platform for integration tests of terminals

Experience and skills

• The position of “Laboratories Accreditation” Product Leader is well suited for an individual with ten to fifteen years of professional experience in chip testing (cards and terminals and mobile) in a payment industry or laboratory (e.g. working on a chip card/terminal/mobile product or hardware or software platform).
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with Master’s Degree preferred
• Five years of professional operational experience in Quality Management;
• Five years of professional operational experience in laboratory accreditation;
• A good knowledge of MCW chip product and test process
• A good knowledge of EMV specification and processes
• A good knowledge of testing strategies.
• Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills.
• Fluent English and any other language being a plus.
