Laboratory Technician- Microbiology
AEGIS Food Testing Laboratories is an Independent, ISO 17025 accredited, commercial food testing laboratory. The laboratory provides microbiological and chemical testing to a variety of food manufacturers.
AEGIS Food Testing Laboratories has openings for full-time Microbiology Lab Technician at our Oklahoma City, OK facility starting immediately. This position is responsible for testing food samples using various microbiological analysis and maintaining documentation of the processes
Duties Include:
* Prepare samples for multiple microbiological analysis by homogenizing, cutting and weighing
* Utilizing proper labeling, handling, storage, use and disposal of solutions and microbiological cultures
* Pipette sample solution into tubes or plates according to the analysis process being performed. Must be capable of making serial dilutions
* Prepare media, broth, and laboratory equipment for use in microbial testing
* Autoclave laboratory waste as required
* Read plates and tubes, as required, to determine the number of organisms in the sample
* Handle samples, performs analysis and report accurate and timely data according to Laboratory Operating Procedures and test methods
*Maintains records of all quality activities as documented in Operating Procedures and test methods
* Maintain and verify equipment
Qualifications
* 4 year degree in microbiology, food science, biology, or related discipline or equivalent industrial laboratory experience
* Experience with computers to facilitate operations of the laboratory information system software package
* Detail orientated, well organized and dependable
* Able to work in a team environment
* Schedule includes one weekend day and evening hours
