Jobing Description
Lab Technician – Assay requested to assist the operation of the lab while two employees are on a leave of absence. The technician will perform sample preparation and chemical analysis in the sample prep lab and the analytical lab. Will assist lab technicians with daily activities during an initial training period and will then be expected to work independently under the guidance of lab technicians, chemists, and metallurgists. Will perform moderate manual labor (lifting buckets up to 30 lbs) several times a day (15% of the time). Must possess basic math skills and basic laboratory skills: use of electronic balances, use of burets, pipettes, etc. Prior lab experience is preferred. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Skills/ Requirements
-High School Diploma or GED
-Minimum of 18 years of age
-Pre-employment screening (Background Check and Drug Screen)
-Prior experience in an industrial setting helpful
-Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful but not required
-Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures and applicable safety standards.
-Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English.
Important Notes
This Position will last approximately 2-3 months.
$15.00 per hour
