Our client Dow AgroSciences, a Fortune 500 Company, is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Lab Technician in West Lafayette, IN Kelly Services, a worldwide leader in the staffing industry, is currently seeking top talent for a Germination Lab Technician / Herbicide Evaluator. The candidate will support the Seeds QC Lab. Candidate?s resume and work history should provide clear examples of proactive thinking/forward thinking, initiative, and an ability to successfully multitask consistently. Candidate?s work history should display solid examples of success as a team player, with multiple internal customers as they will be interfacing with many different levels in this role. This position requires the ability to adapt to ever-changing situations, perform at a very high level while juggling multiple responsibilities. The position is a temporary full time, 6 months or longer position. You MUST live in the Lafayette or West Lafayette area to be considered for this position. Primary responsibilities Prepare materials for germination/herbicide testing, including and not limited to: trays with kimpak towels, sand and/or water, germination paper watering, cart preparation, tray washing, plant material waste collection and disposal, housekeeping, stocking consumable materials, dividing seed samples using divider machines. Use equipment to separate bulk seeds into specific seed sizes. Could also be working in the Herbicide testing lab, which will involve preparing herbicide bioassay testing with rolled towels and dilute herbicide solution. This process also includes planting corn, sunflower and cotton seed on towels as directed as well as evaluating herbicide testing. Use equipment to separate bulk seeds into specific seed sizes. Daily housekeeping in state of the art lab and completing appropriate paperwork and samples. Job Expectations Must be able to follow directions and complete the above tasks independently once trained. Must be physically able to complete tasks. Interact with a diverse scientific community Able to work effectively under pressure and time constraints while responding with appropriate urgency to situations Requirements: * Only candidates that meet the following qualifications need apply . Minimum High School diploma/GED General chemical knowledge is recommended Selected candidates need to poses independent and self motivating work ethic with a level of ownership. Detail orientation toward work tasks and a high level of work aptitude. Candidate should display strong work ethic that displays high level of attention to detail, dependability, and have an appreciation for sciences.
