Laborers/ Operators
Henkels McCoy, Inc., one of the largest privately held international utility contracting firms, with offices in 80 cities and celebrating 85 years of operating with a reputation as one of the most reliable and innovative firms in engineering and construction, is currently seeking Laborers/ Operators in the Utility Construction field. These are union positions that will require previous experience in utility construction.
- Performs duties related to general construction such as, but not limited to, equipment operator, etc.
- Cleans and prepares site to eliminate possible hazards.
- Reads and interprets plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities.
- Signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
- Measures, marks, and records openings and distances to lay out areas where worked will be performed.
- Must perform physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
- If not already a union member, then union membership will be required.
- Ability to travel throughout mutliple states as needed is required.
- Previous experience as an construction laborer for utilities.
- Current valid driver's license with a clean driving record for up to the past 5 years is required.
- CDL preferred.
- Must be able to perform heavy physical work, and perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- This position requires significant time standing or walking on uneven ground, possible climbing of ladders or being in high places, working in tight spaces and in general, being overall physically demanding.
- Work in an all weather environment is required.
- Must be able to lift heavy material.
- NO relocation expenses or per diem are available for these positions.
