My client is a leading Developer of High Low Rise Development. I am conducting a search for an Land Acquisitions Manager to join this dynamic team.
The Acquisition Manager's role is accountable for the management and success of acquisition of the property throughout it’s acquisition lifecycle in accordance with the Company’s vision, mission, code of conduct, business strategy, modeling, underwriting and approved Business Plan. The Acquisition Manager provides oversight and integration of the acquisition activities performed by the various functional areas (including land development, sales and marketing, value engineering), consultants and advisors (including lawyers, architects, traffic consultants, engineers)
Sourcing of investment opportunities which fit the corporate branding and business objectives. Following variables of location, demographics and planning for various asset class.
Feasibility check – Check if the development is expected to meet financial and risk conditions:
Due Diligence – detailed check of all items in the Feasibility Check
Closing and preparation for closing
Letter of Intent/ Offer/ Conditional Agreement
Experience:
- Prior education or experience in a functional real estate role construction/ engineering architecture, planning, law, sales/marketing —is an asset when combined with specialized business or financial education and experience.
- Minimum 8-10 years demonstrated experience in real estate
- Previous extensive experience working on real estate analysis
- Demonstrated success in leading others and using personal initiative and an entrepreneurial approach to transform a property lead into an inspiring, financially-sound business deal.
- Previous experience in complex projects and multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in the Ontario real estate market is an asset.
- Experience to skillfully negotiate transactions
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Business Acumen.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written), ability to communicate clearly and succinctly to executive audiences.
- Strong ability to create and analyze multi layered proforma.
- Ability to review and synthesize key conclusions from technical documents: legal contracts, planning/zoning studies, engineering reports, etc.
- Good understanding of the real estate market.
