Land Manager Job in Gatineau J5t9r5, Quebec Canada
Working as part of the Community Relations and Environment group, the Land Manager will be part of the team responsible for operating hydroelectric power plants.
The Land Manager is responsible for:
- Developing and implementing a program aimed at obtaining and maintaining land rights required for operations
- Establishing and implementing an annual action plan for protecting the integrity of the land
- Negotiating agreements with several players from the public and private sectors and making recommendations on land rights granted to third parties
- Managing projects, including the sale, acquisition and exchange of land and easements
- Coordinating the activities of external suppliers such as notaries, land surveyors, lawyers, appraisers and entrepreneurs
- Taking part in land inspection activities
- Managing the geographic information system (GIS)
- Handling all files/cases pertaining to the environment and public safety
Experience
- Training in forestry, land surveying, geomatics, law, forest management or a related field
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in land and land rights management
- Excellent ability to manage projects and coordinate work with consultants
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Good analytical skills and ability for synthesis
- Excellent negotiation skills: ability to resolve disagreements and offer solutions
- Ability to use computer tools without assistance, specifically the GIS
- Fluent in French; English
