Latent Print Technician (Afghanistan)

BAE Systems is in need of experienced Latent Print Technicians eager to join our dynamic team working in the United States Army Criminal Investigation Laboratory's Afghanistan facilities. Latent Print Technicians are responsible for determining best methods for developing, enhancing and preserving latent prints on porous and non-porous items; identifying and labeling latent prints of value based on sufficient quality and quantity of friction ridge detail; imaging developed prints via digital photography and scanning techniques; enhancing latent prints using chemical enhancements such as dyes, lasers, alternate light sources, and light scan systems; maintaining detailed notes regarding the processes conducted and preparing reports of said procedures; utilizing software applications for the processing and enhancement of digital images; and other duties as assigned. Individuals must be able to prioritize, handle, and execute on multiple requests and tasking in order to handle a very high volume of work. In addition to the technical skills above, additional attributes are a must: innovativeness, self-motivation, professionalism, and flexibility suitable for an expeditionary environment. During time of deployment, substantial amounts of additional compensation are added to base salary. Housing and food are provided. BAE Systems offers competitive salary and benefits. Required Skills: - A minimum of 1 year experience working in direct support of a latent print examiner to process prints from various media. - Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. - Willingness to deploy overseas for 3 to 6 month intervals for a total of at least 1 year. - Meet contractual requirements associated with the Minimal Standard of Fitness for Deployment. Preferred Skills: - Prior military experience. - Previous deployment, particularly at a CEXC facility.
