TITLE
Law Office Manager
DESCRIPTION
Atlanta law firm with national trial practice of 35 years is seeking an individual with a law degree and office management experience.

Individual must be a self starter and work with little to no supervision. This person must possess integrity and transparency with excellent communication and leadership skills.
DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO
Founding Partner
SUPERVISION OVER
Responsible for assigning, directing, and reviewing the work of other personnel and out of state associating law firms.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (This position may not include all of the listed duties, nor do all of the listed examples include all tasks, which may be part of this position)
Office Management
- Manages office details by relieving the Managing Partner and Senior Lawyers of routine requests and matters;
- Will train, supervise and delegate work to attorney and staff members;
- Will manage the completion of tasks given to attorney and staff members;
- Maintains follow-up/reminder systems to insure timely completion of projects;
- Back up to in-house lawyers and out-of-state lawyers
- Follows established rules and procedures in responding to requests
- Designs and organizes the office record keeping system and insures maintenance of legal opinion files, litigation files, subject files and legal publications;
- Maintains dockets and calendars for Managing Partner and law firm general calendar and schedules related appointments;
- Coordinates activities of numerous departments insuring functions that are scheduled do not conflict with existing or planned events;
- Screens calls and visitors;
- Assist in the operation of a 501(c) (3) non-profit foundation.
- Oversee IT systems and websites.
Communication and Policy Interpretation
- Acts as liaison between law office and the general public by answering detailed inquiries either orally or in writing on a variety of organizational activities;
- Assist in preparing Managing Partner’s weekly blog and out-of-state speeches;
- Interface with trial lawyers throughout the United States and assist in securing fee agreements;
- Creates and composes legal documents, letters, reports, memos, agenda items, graphs, charts, presentations, and e-mails;
- Independently answers correspondence not needing review the Managing Partner and Senior Lawyers;
- Records minutes, prepares agendas and maintains permanent and confidential records of meetings.
- May perform confidential employee/employer relations assignments;
- Interprets and explains policies consistent with accepted interpretation;
- Recommends policy and procedure revisions as they relate to internal support and clerical activities;
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, and Experience
- Must possess law degree (Georgia license not required)
- Must possess above average skills in Microsoft Office Suite, organizing and reinforcing structure, writing and communication, project management and legal office management
Knowledge of:
- Standard legal office management techniques;
- Correct English grammar, punctuation, spelling, and proofreading;
- Technical legal terms and processing legal forms;
- Procedures for filing legal documents;
- Record keeping and filing systems;
- Case/document management systems;
- Standard office equipment and software applications;
- Employee/employer relations and negotiations;
- Effective telephone techniques.
Skill and Ability to:
- Travel
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse groups including top level management, officials, senior attorneys and board members;
- Prepare concise and accurate written communications;
- Prepare legal documents and complete work assignments;
- Set up and maintain database files;
- Utilize time management techniques to organize and prioritize work;
- Exercise analytical and independent judgment;
- Coordinate a variety of projects simultaneously;
- Read, interpret research, explain, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to law office;
- Accurately record/transcribe meeting minutes;
- Identify and research sources of data in the community to obtain information;
- Maintain confidentiality;
- Maintain cooperative working relationships.
