Lawyer – Capital Markets / Product Development recruitment
This is an exciting role for an ambitious Lawyer to join a start up team setting up a European asset manager. The management team is extremely experienced and successful entrepreneurs in the asset management space. The role will suit a self-motivated and detail oriented professional with product issuance, capital markets or structured products experience. The ideal candidate will be excited by the chance to help establish and build a business, working directly with the owners. The initial work will focus on developing the Company’s first products, and setting up the corporate structures.
The individual will be required to:
- Develop and manage all legal documentation to issue ETPs off a fund or notes platform, including the Prospectus
- Lead transaction process and manage external lawyers
- Analyse and recommend product and legal structures based on competing products
- Analyse and keep abreast of all regulatory issues and developments
- Assist with establishing the corporate structure to enable the company to gain regulatory licenses in order to issue Exchange Traded Products (ETPs)
- Negotiate and manage documents with investment banks
- Negotiate and manage documents with external parties including administrator, trustee, custodian
- Manage all other legal support work
- You will also have an opportunity to assist with company strategy and future product generation
Experience:
- 4-8 years PQE capital markets experience
- You will have worked for one of City’s leading law firms, in-house for a top investment bank or leading asset manager
- Exposure to ETPs, derivatives and debt markets. Fund experience may also be relevant
- Good knowledge of derivatives documentation
- Significant experience with notes, funds or structured product issuance
- Corporate knowledge is a plus
Skills:
- Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good writing and presentation skills, especially English.
- Hard working, entrepreneurial and driven to succeed.
- Ability to think outside the box, solve problems and contribute ideas to the management team
- Must be accurate, high attention to detail
- Ability to explain complex ideas to people with wide levels of understanding
- Excellent academic record
Qualifications
- Must be able to live and work in the UK
- Must be a lawyer who has qualified in Europe
