Lawyer- Investment Bank – ISDA, PSA/ ISMA recruitment
Barclay Simpson Asia are delighted to search on behalf of it'sclient, a world-leading financial services group for a strong in-house lawyer within it's Global Investment Banking group.
The requirement is a for an experienced in-house lawyer with strong Master and collateral agreements knowledge ie. ISDA, Credit Support and PSA/ ISMA documents.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Manage, co-ordinate and negotiate all master and collateral agreements (ie. ISDA Master Agreement, Credit Support Annex, PSA/ISMA Global Master Repurchase Agreement, etc.) in the Asian region.
• Assist in the review and drafting of non-standard confirmations in the Asian region as required by various departments.
• Ensure compliance with Head Office master agreement negotiation policies.
• Keep abreast of legal issues and developments on master documentation in various legal jurisdictions in Asia.
• Maintain accurate records of pending and executed master agreements.
Transaction Management:
• Liaise with Credit, Collateral Management, Relationship, Front Office and Operations departments to ensure internal policies are met, the bank’s interests are protected and master agreements are executed in a timely manner.
• Work with external counsel to ensure precedent documents are maintained for various legal jurisdictions in Asia.
Files/Records:
• Maintain complete and concise negotiation files, including internal approvals, correspondence records and legal opinions where necessary.
• Ensure in-house databases are kept updated and accurate.
• Provide fortnightly negotiation status reports to senior management.
General:
• Comply with and implement policies and procedures.
• Educate trading and credit personnel as to master agreement policies and procedures.
• Ensure business contingency plan is maintained.
Your Profile:
• A minimum of 3- 5+ years of relevant experience
• Working knowledge of master documentation, specifically ISDA, including confirmation processes
• General understanding of derivative products and market practice in that area
• High attention to detail
• Strong organisational skills
