Lawyer – Traded Products Documentation, APAC recruitment
As the Lawyer - Traded Products Documentation for APAC at UBS, you will work closely with your colleagues in Legal and Compliance, Credit, Collateral management to support the FICC and Equities business in APAC including Singapore, HK, India, Korea, China, Taiwan.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
- Advising, drafting and negotiating agreements for trading financial products, including prime brokerage, custody, OTC derivatives (ISDA and CSA), exchange traded derivatives, repo (GMRA) and securities financing (GMSLA), and derivatives linked to syndicated loans and debt capital market transactions.
- Responsible for the entire master agreement documentary process for these traded products: preparation of first drafts; negotiating terms; obtaining approvals; co-ordinating among business, collateral management, legal, credit, tax, group treasury etc.
- Advising on issues such as legal capacity, enforceability of collateral and set -off , close out netting
- Prioritising matters on a continuous basis with business managers and risk managers.
- Providing paralegals with instructions and junior professional staff with technical support.
- Managing external legal counsels.
Requirements:
Our ideal candidate should have the following requisites:
- Legally qualified in Singapore or Australia with minimally 4 years of PQE
- Ability to negotiate in Mandarin
- Well organised and attention to details
- Able to work under time constraints and ability to prioritise
- Team player and work with minimum of supervision
- Technical knowledge of master agreements
- Strong analytical skills
- Familar with OTC Derivatives ISDA experience
- Prime Brokerage experience is an advantage
- Knowledge of ETD is a bonus
- Familiarity with APAC counterparties and the regional variations in documentation.
