Job Purpose/Background:

Within BlackRock Solutions, the Client Solutions team is responsible for developing and implementing solutions for institutional clients by employing BlackRock’s broad capabilities, which includes the market leading Liability Driven Investment (“LDI”) business. BlackRock EMEA LDI has approximately $175bn of assets under management and due to continued growth we are looking to hire an associate level portfolio manager into the portfolio management team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the ongoing management of a range of fixed income and derivative portfolios within the LDI team in London. The portfolios typically contain a wide range of instruments including bonds and fixed income derivatives such as interest rate swaps, inflation swaps, cross currency swaps, swaptions, total return swaps and repos.

The role involves providing support on the day-to-day activities of the LDI portfolio management team. The main responsibilities will be to help manage the portfolios to risk targets and implement client transactions and restructuring activity. The role will also entail portfolio analysis, trading support, and assisting in the provision of client and portfolio information to support the development of the business. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic team and will be expected to manage and prioritise their workload effectively. The role will involve a significant amount of exposure to a wide range of instruments and investment strategies, and the candidate will be expected to develop a strong understanding of these aspects of the role through on-the-desk training and experience.
