Goodrich Sensors Unlimited Inc. is seeking an experienced IC Designer to lead and serve as the nucleus of an advanced imager design group. These ASIC projects focus on system-on-a-chip CMOS Read-Out Integrated Circuits (ROICs) for infrared Focal Plane Arrays (FPAs). ROIC designs include advanced active pixels, ADCs, high speed DDR serializers, references, SRAMs, and other technologies required to meet the aggressive sensitivity, dynamic range, power consumption, and systems' integration goals of our customers.

As a Lead Designer, you can own and drive aggressive technical projects through the whole design lifecycle, providing leadership for a group of IC engineers. You will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects. Lead Designer are expected to contribute technically to their projects, develop and source new mixed-signal IC designs and IP by working with internal and external resources.

The role specifically includes:

- Helping to architect the group's roles and responsibilities. Interviewing prospective candidates, making hiring recommendations
- Technically managing design projects, including external design resources, to specifications, cost, and schedule
- Personally performing critical analog and mixed-signal design and simulation. Assisting team members
- Develop robust design and simulation workflows to meet project specifications and schedule, improve design re-use, and reduce errors
- Participating in conceptual design and specification definition of new IC projects, including feasibility analysis and simulation
- Developing IC testing plans. Assist with root cause analysis, design validation, and characterization questions
- Documenting IC designs and interfaces for sourcing IP, internal testing, camera design, and manufacturing

Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics required with minimum 5 years experience in IC Design, Ph.D. preferred.

Required skills of the position include:

- Extensive custom analog and mixed-signal IC design experience. CTIA and/or direct injection pixel, Analog to Digital Converter, imaging, and/or low-noise amplifier experience preferred.

- Experience leading and driving a design team, including internal and external team members. Self-directed focus on high level objectives.

- Knowledge of latest generation IC design and simulation tool sets. Experience with modern CMOS analog foundry processes, Cadence Virtuoso, and back-annotated simulation using parasitic extraction. Familiarity with Verilog place-and-route design flows is an advantage.

- Ability to understand high-level project objectives and specifications, and translate them into a detailed design plans.

- Excellent communication skills. Candidate can explain complex technical concepts and functionality clearly to audiences of various technical disciplines.
