Job Description
Analytical Services at DemandTec are supplemental services that enhance the strategic use of our software and/or answer ancillary business questions requiring sophisticated analytical approaches. The Analytical Services Lead/Manager will work on cross-functional teams who design and deliver a variety of analyses to our Retail and CP manufacturer customers. Projects tend to arise in two flavors:

1) Delivery of Packaged Analytical Offerings which have a proven track record of enhancing our customer's strategic use of our software. Examples: Store Clustering to support Pricing, Promotion, or Assortment; Customer Segmentation; Size Profiling / Pack Optimization for Softline categories.

2) Developing New Analytical Offerings to address emerging business problems that our customers and prospects seek to address. Examples: quantification of price gap with competitors; analysis of the impact of price actions on shopper-level metrics; optimization of service plan pricing tiers.

Responsibilities:
- Work with field consultants to understand customer business processes and analytical needs
- Work with scientists and engineers to develop methodologies for answering core questions
- Master existing processes to support delivery of packaged offerings; assume responsibility for deliverables
- Develop deep working knowledge of DemandTec science and capabilities to drive innovative new offerings

Required Skill Set
- Degree in Econometrics/Statistics/Mathematics or related analytical field ; knowledge of statistical concepts
- Strong programming skills (SQL, R, SAS, Java, C++)
- Experience working in a Retail or CP Manufacturer environment or related field (analytics or analytical software sold to these spaces, for example)
- Moderate skill in building EXCEL-based tools for data analysis and display

Desired Skill Set
- Advanced analytics degress (M.S., Ph.D)
- Experience / expertise in dealing with very large data files
- Direct experience in analyzing consumer-level data (transactions, panel, etc…)
- 3+ years experience with Retail and/or Manufacturer data and analysis
- Familiarity with customer segmentation concepts
- Experience with Flex/HTML5 and other web/internet technologies

Location: Minneapolis, MN preferred but will consider SF Bay Area or other major metropolitan areas.
