Lead Applications Engineer Job in Livonia 48125, Michigan US
The position requires working closely with the sales team as a technical expert for the development of a customer’s battery system based on their specifications. The position is the point of contact for any technical questions, both internal and from the potential customer during the initial development and quoting phase. The position may require technical direction over other engineers or engineering support personnel.
Primary responsibilities:
• Translate initial customer requirements to complete battery system
• Support battery system quoting process
• Support sales team with technical expertise
• Technical single point of contact with the customer for battery pack
program
• Development and tracking of engineering timeline and plan
• Managing engineering open issues and driving issue resolution
• Lead participant in customer and internal product development meetings
• Customer specification review and requirements cascade to internal team
• Development of pack current limits and performance requirements
• Development of pack level EOL (End of Line) test plan
• Managing top level bill-of-materials, approving subcomponent changes and tracking cost
• Supporting APQP process and deliverables
Education/Experience:
• B.S.EE, B.S.ME or equivalent training.
• 5+ years of applicable work experience
• Must demonstrate leadership skills and possess experience working with customers
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
• Must have excellent problem solving skills
• Experience with high voltage batteries and/or electric/hybrid-electric vehicles preferred
• Experience working with CANalyzer, MATLAB and C++ preferred
• Experience working with CAD program (CATIA) preferred
