Position Description
This supervisory role will oversee the daily operations of a team of employees. They will answer staff questions and handle any escalated issues. They will identify and resolve problems or issues and report to their supervisor and manager as appropriate. They may assist in training new employees.
They will also have their own medical billing duties that they will be responsible for each day as noted below:
**Follow up of outstanding A/R all payers and/or including self pay and/or including resolution of denials.
** Handling all correspondence related to an insurance or patient account, contacting insurance carriers, patients and other facilities as needed to get maximum payment on accounts and identify issues or changes to achieve client profitability.
**Responsible for working EDI transactions and ERA files, including reconciling carrier submissions, edits and rejection reports.
** Researching and resolving accounts as directed by management making appropriate decisions on accounts to be worked to maximize reimbursement.
Additional Knowledge Skills
Excellent understanding of the A/R process. Is capable of training others and answering questions from co-workers when necessary. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and ability to interact with senior level clients, and high level of computer literacy with command of office software including excel spreadsheets, pivot tables and PowerPoint presentation. Good knowledge of healthcare, government and/or insurance industry. Group leader position, all of the skills of a level 2 employee including filling in for Supervisor in their absence. Must be organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task efficiently and work well with others.
Minimum Requirements
5+ years work experience, medical billing and research experience required and demonstrated leadership skills and/or abilities.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
