Role Summary/Purpose
Lead financial solution Simplification and Compliance initiatives as a part of the Corporate FPA and Financial Reporting Systems team. Analyst is responsible for: functional partnership, identifying simplification opportunities across the existing financial system platforms and interfaces, gathering business requirements, providing project leadership, designing solutions, and integrating solutions across new/existing financial systems.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Propose and design process enhancements, system upgrades, and replacement solutions to drive consolidation, simplification, and standardization across applications, while delivering productivity gains and cost out
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including project team structure and resource alignment, managing daily activities, regular communication, and ensuring quality, SDLC, and compliance requirements are adhered to
  • Work as a Business Partner with finance leaders and users to evaluate and improve business processes and arrive at mutual, cost effective solutions
  • Manage budget and contracts necessary for meeting project objectives. Contribute to the annual budgeting process to ensure proper resource allocations
  • Provide leadership and guide 3rd party consultants throughout the systems development lifecycle to ensure quality and conformance to standard IT SDLC best practices
  • Identify areas of improvement and lead critical path decisions to drive solutions ensuring they are on time, on budget and to appropriate quality standards
  • Create and maintain process and system documentation for assigned applications and projects
  • Manage the expectations of the customers, balancing their needs and wants, with educating where appropriate

    Qualifications/Requirements
    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Sciences or Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Information Technology delivering high impact technology solutions
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in application leadership supporting production systems, including issue troubleshooting, user support, software version control and managing multiple environments (Development, Test, Production, etc.)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in executing projects through full SDLC and QA

  • Willing to work out of an office in Visteon Village, Wayne County, Van Buren Township (near Ann Arbor / Detroit)
  • Be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act

    Desired Characteristics

  • IMLP graduate
  • Strong business acumen
  • Experience in application development using web-based services (Linux, Oracle, SQL, Java/J2EE, Struts, Hibernate, JSP/ASP, Web Services, JBoss, Apache, SSL)
  • Experience in legacy mainframe technologies (JCL, VSAM, DB2, Cobol)
  • Experience with GE financial systems and processes
  • Experience with CAP (Change Acceleration Process)
  • Experience leading large projects, including planning, estimating and reporting project requirements
  • Experience with dash-boarding and/or metrics reporting
  • ITIL/PMP certified
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certified
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to think 'outside the box'when developing simplification solutions and creating IT value
  • Ability to manage offshore teams.
  • Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and/or industry activities.
  • Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources
