Lead Business Analyst – Front Office – Synthetic Equities, Prime Finance – Tier one IB recruitment

Our tier one Investment banking clients are currently recruiting for a Lead business analyst to join the global prime finance team.

The role itself is a pure business analysis role sat within the Synthetic equities business. It’s a huge growth area for the group and they and they need an expert in this field to help build out there synthetics business. You will be a key part in the business analyst team to delivering technology solutions that are the best in the market. As a senior member of this well established global BA team, your focus will be on the delivery of strategic global initiatives, with a strong focus on business process re-engineering. This is a high profile position with frequent exposure to business heads and product leads, hence interpersonal communication and presentation skills are very important.

The prime finance front office and also clients use tools developed by GPF IT that span across the following areas:

• Trading Applications

• Mobile Applications (iPhone/iPad)

• Firm Inventory Management Tools

• Funding Decision Tools

• Cross Product Solutions

• Clearing and Settlements Process

• Risk and Margin

• Global Prime Web Portal

• Client Reporting

A key objective of this role is to bridge the gap between the client's requirements and the technical delivery team, and help to successfully deliver projects within this diverse and challenging space. The role requires an enthusiastic self-starter who wants to deliver quality solutions by employing business analysis best practices and functional domain knowledge.

If successful with you will be required to perform tasks on the following aspects of the project lifecycle:

• Project Initiation (project scoping and planning)

• Business Analysis (requirements gathering and documentation)

• Functional Design (preparation and documentation of Functional Specifications and Use Cases)

• Technical Design (review of Technical Specifications)

• Test planning, preparation and execution (preparation of system and integration test plans, test cases and test progress reporting)

• Facilitating UAT and User Integration

Responsibilities:

• Work with Project Managers, Development Leads, Technical Architects, and IT vendor teams

• Work with the global Prime finance project process covering all business aspects from requirements gathering through implementation.

• Establish a relationship with the Product Development group, business users and delivery teams.

• Conduct requirements gathering, business analysis, functional design, system and integration testing.

• Ensure that specific project deliverables are produced on time in accordance with the project plan and make sure that all relevant parties are informed of progress.

• Maintain a quality control process and ensure that project deliverables meet the required quality standards.

• Monitor risks and issues for a project’s successful outcome.

• Report project progress at regular intervals to management and produce key documentation for distribution.

Required Experience levels:

• Domain knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Equities, Synthetic Equity, Securities Lending and Prime Brokerage.

• Ability to think strategically and lead the implementation of new systems to meet business needs

• Strong work ethics, detail oriented and good interpersonal skills

• Ability to liaise with senior GME Technology managers and product leads.

•          Business Analysis or Project Management qualification (CBAP/PMI etc) is highly desirable.

• Excellent communication skills and good analytical problem solving skills; Ability to effectively work with clients and vendors in a multi-cultural, smart sourced environment
