C++ ACE Developer

Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO) is seeking an energetic, motivated, experienced C++ software developer to work on its proprietary automated compliance system. The system integrates real-time with a Bloomberg front office trade order mgmt. system to process compliance restrictions across PIMCO portfolios.

The role entails the following activities:
-Design, develop and enhance proprietary Compliance Rule Engine to Automate Guidelines rule processing for various Financial Products: Bonds, Futures, Options, FX, Swaps, Equities, etc. These rules are constantly evolving due to changes in Financial Systems, Regulatory-Legislative changes, client requirements, PIMCO's views and so forth.
-Provide infrastructure development support to provide an efficient, distributed and fault tolerant system
-Develop support for pre-trade processing capabilities
-Design, Develop and maintain Unix Shell Scripts for managing the compliance system life cycle. The scripts handle Night Cycles (US, Europe, Asia), Data Loads, interaction with other systems and keeping the application in its current state.
-Production Support: As one of the key systems of PIMCO, it is critical that system is available 24*6 for PIMCO Global offices. This requires quickly isolating production issues and ensuring that the system available in a short timespan so that PIMCO's global business functions smoothly.

-Advanced C++, STL, Data Structures, Design Patterns and Debugging skills
-Understanding of Unix Operating System
-Understanding of Multithreading on Unix (pthread Library)
-Strong UNIX Shell Scripting required
-Sybase or Oracle database knowledge including strong SQL required
-Experience with Middleware technologies a plus
-Fixed income Derivatives experience preferred
-Strong research and analytical skills
-Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects with aggressive deadlines
-Strong verbal and written communication skills
-Willing to take initiative leading projects to completion
-Four-year college degree in Computer Science or other engineering degree from a solid university required
