Lead C2 Infrastructure Technician Job
SAIC currently has openings for Lead C2 Infrastructure Technicians located in Key West, Florida supporting the Joint Interagency Task Force-South. JIATF-S is responsible interagency and international detection monitoring operations, and facilitates the interdiction of illicit trafficking and other narco-terrorist threats in support of national and partner nation security. This is a contingent proposal with anticipated award date in late April, 2012. Work will commence shortly thereafter. JOB DESCRIPTION: The Lead C2 Infrastructure Technician will perform project engineering support and management duties in direct support of the SAIC's JIATF-S Program Manager. This includes, but is not limited to: * Conducts site surveys and documents current site telecommunications configuration and user requirements. * Designs and optimizes telecommunications topologies. * Follows engineering installation packages and works with telecommunications installation team. * Develops on-site installation schedules. * Works with telecommunications installation team. * Assists in documenting configuration changes at each site. * Prepares test reports. * Assists in documenting configuration changes at each site. * Perform integration tasks, installing fiber optic and CAT6 cabling, and support systems, according to designs. * Ensuring all business process and procedures are adhered to, staffed, and coordinated properly through the Program Manager. * Maintain accurate and up-to-date schedule and in-progress-reports. * Maintain accurate suspense tracking that ensures all internal and external suspense are met on time. * Provide expert management advice, assistance and engineering in areas regarding C2 infrastructure support systems management, administration, planning and implementation. He/she will devise creative solutions to problems that could hinder the efficient operation of the program, project, and its various entities. * The ideal candidate must be able to work successfully and contribute positively to a team environment. Qualifications : SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Candidate must have a current (active) DoD Secret clearance in order to be considered for this opportunity. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: * Must have experience in using common test equipment (e.g. digital test sets, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers). * Must have experience testing telecommunications equipment/systems and following standard test procedures. * Must have experience in trouble-shooting problems with telecommunications equipment to include system interfaces. * Capable of trouble-shooting and activating circuits. * Must have 2 years of telecommunications/electronics vocational training, or professional certification from an ABET accredited technical school or equivalent military school. * 5+ years experience in 2 or more of the specialties: Telephone and switching technology (Microwave, Satellite, Propagation, Power, Fiber optics, Videoconferencing, Audio/visual systems, Grounding, bonding, shielding or electromagnetic pulse/high-altitude electromagnet pulse, Technical control, Test and evaluation, Air traffic control/navigational aids, Electromagnetic compatibility, Enterprise systems, Multi-media systems). * High school diploma or equivalent.
