Looking for a Lead Client/Desktop Engineer for a right to hire or potentially straight full time position. The Lead Client/Desktop Engineer will be responsible for the recommendation, design and implementation of desktop and client computing platforms across the enterprise. Responsibilities include:
• Lead the design, implementation, deployment, and support of the desktop technologies.
• Lead the support and maintenance of an Enterprise sized Desktop Infrastructure System.
• Lead the technological direction and implementation of PC/Mac hardware standards, software roadmaps, software compatibility, system management tools and security standards.
• Research solutions providing functional and technical written evaluations of products and operating system upgrades and patches.
• Create desktop and laptop build processes.
• Develop, organize and maintain standard operational procedures.
• Ensure that desktop standards are understood and followed by stake holders and team members.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, architecture and development teams to provide implementation blueprints, industry best practices and vendor product guidelines.
• Prioritize work efforts, multi-task in a very fast-paced environment, and provide timely and clear updates.
• Assist project managers with the budgets, resource allocation, task distribution, delivery management, risk management and other project management tasks.

Qualifications for the Lead Desktop Engineer include:

• 7+ years experience on Windows Desktop Enterprise technologies.
• 2+ years experience in directly managing teams.
• Experience on software packaging and distribution technologies and building OS images using Ghost, ZenWorks or Dell KACE.
• Must have experience with Windows XP, Windows 7 (32-bit 64-bit) desktop platforms.
• Experience on WMI, VB Scripting, profiles for user settings, builds and distributions. (As part of interview process, you will be asked to show your VB Scripting knowledge.)
• Experience on large migration projects.
• Windows XP to 7 and Office 2010 upgrade.
