Lead Cognos Developer recruitment

Responsibilities

Required Skills:
Candidate must be self-motivated and results-oriented with strong Cognos technology expertise, having specific skills in data warehouse design, Cognos BI Development tools ( Report Studio, Metric Studio etc) as well as Cognos Metadata Model development using Framework Manager.

Candidate must be able to:
- Lead BI efforts involving a team of 4 or more BI developers
- Estimate BI work effort and durations
- Refine design, construction, and testing processes for BI initiatives based on industry best practices.
- Analyze source data and understand how it is intended to be used in target environments
- Work with Business and technical staff to ensure accurate understanding of business requirements and agree upon solutions.
- Analyze source data and understand how it is intended to be used in target environments
- Analyze, design, and implement the Cognos metadata layer
- Create logical and physical data warehouse designs to implement agreed-upon solutions.
- Create Cognos Framework and Report designs to implement agreed-upon solutions

Qualifications

Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree with 10 years data/reporting related work experience or significant equivalent work experience
- 6 years experiencing in designing and developing business intelligence solutions, with at least 4 years of that involving Cognos 8.x and above. Cognos 10 experience preferred.
- Strong experience in creating OLAP cubes using Transformer
- Strong experience in creating Framework models
- Hands on experience in creating complex drill through reports
- Good database architecture and design skills, with 3 or more years of experience using Microsoft SQL Server 2005
- Experience with modeling customer, sales, and web analytics data preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of various data related functions such as data integration, data modeling, metadata management, data replication and ETL, business intelligence, data cleansing and profiling.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and planning skills
- Demonstrated ability to work
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, presentation and customer service skills
