Lead Design Systems Installation

As the Lead Design Engineer - Systems Installation, you will be expected to have an overall knowledge of aircraft wing systems (not including electrics) and installation principles and should be proficient in the use of CATIA V5
You can expect to:
- Manage and complete preliminary design schemes, trade studies, ICY interface and frontier models/drawings and detail/ installation drawings for mechanical and fluid systems and structural provision;
- The systems installations must be designed such that weight is kept ot a minimum whilst meeting all requirements and cost targets;
- Liaise closely with other designers and supportability engineers to ensure that the installation of the systems can be fully accessed and maintained;
- Ensure overall integrity of systems are maintained following failure events such as engine non-containment or tyre burst
- Ensure, by working closely with systems functions that the design solution is a fully integrated one
This position has been graded as Advanced Professional.
Tasks
Within the position, your main responsibilities will be:
- Leading work packages of mechanical and fluid system installation and structural change to completion on time;
- Ensuring that the design of th installation fully meets all requirements as laid down in the specification;
- Ensuring that the Airworthiness requirements are met;
- Ensuring that the integrity of the design meets all quality standards;
- Producing summary and detailed PDR/CDR presentation material when required
Skills
As the successful candidate you will have:
- Previous experience working as an aircraft mechanical/flight controls systems engineer with knowledge of systems installation requirements and principles;
- Significant amount of experience working as a design engineer or general wing design and structural tasks;
- Good understanding of aircraft production methods and processes as well as cost effective design;
- A team player attitude with high regards for internal and external customers;
- Strong proficiency in CATIA V5
- Preferably possess a degree or HNC and have a good general engineering background
