Lead Developer
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and skilled java developer for one of Australia's Leading Banking and Financial Institution.

The successful candidate will get the opportunity to play a key part in an exciting project for a leading bank.
Role Context:
This will be a hands-on leadership and java development role across. In addition to completing development tasks, the Lead Developer will provide guidance to other developers, peer review code, provide consultation across multiple project workstreams and new initiatives. In addition to managing team members, the Lead Developer will need to communicate the development status and strategy to management, architects and Global Markets technology teams.
The Lead Developer must have excellent analytical and communication skills. He/she is to recommend development solutions, in order to deliver to business requirements within the project timeframes, while complying with the companies policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
Financial:
Develop solutions that are consistent with the financial goals of the project.
Contributes to decisions associated with IT Systems in terms of benefits, risks, and costs.
Customer:
Build strong relationships with:
1. The Global Markets Team Managers.
2. Project Managers
The broader Architecture community, especially those servicing interfacing systems.
Process:
Gather, analyse and interpret functional and non-functional requirements to determine a development solution for a specific business project within the approved architectural framework.
Maintain oversight, and deal with issues discovered during the detailed design, development, testing or implementation phases of the project.
Ensure the solution is fit-for-purpose for the Markets business and is in the best interests of the company for the expected life of the solution.
Contribute to the development of artefacts, processes, etc.
People:
Contribute to the up-skilling of services providers in their knowledge of Markets business and its strategies.
Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of technologies and markets trends relevant to the Markets business.
Risk/compliance/behaviours:
Contribute to the “Well Managed” culture in GMT.
Proactively identify opportunities for improvements in processes, documentation, etc.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE EXPERIENCE:
Solid experience in developing and integrating solutions in a Global Markets environment.
Deep knowledge of the Markets business – products, services, practices.
Deep and wide knowledge of systems supporting Markets.
Results-focussed, attention to detail, and hands-on approach.
Experience with Spring, Camel, OSGI Service Mix, Websphere, XSLT, FIX, LDAP and related technologies
