Lead Developer – E-Commerce recruitment

Responsibilities:

Technical Strategy

To apply an in-depth understanding of the technical roadmap and how it aligns to the Technical and Business strategy, to each project to assure their contribution to the technical vision or that the vision is challenged/revised.

Capacity/Capability

To enhance, maintain and share skills/knowledge in particular function/system area to ensure retention of key skills and intellectual property.

Function Ownership

To provide technical, design and thought leadership, to both Business and Technical staff, within a specific functional area, identifying synergies and opportunities to enhance and future proof systems and add value to the Insurance operation.

Business Delivery

Deliver the Business change agenda in the form of commercially viable solutions delivered to agreed design, time, cost and quality in adherence with technical/business strategy, relevant/appropriate group and agreed Insurance specific standards, operational principles and best practice.
To deliver end-to-end solution that are fit for purpose, for both day 1 and beyond, from the perspective of the Business (including target operating model), Infrastructure delivery and support, application delivery and support (incl. Configuration management), with enduring dev/test/support environment capability.
To create key design documents to a high standard, including functional specifications, application designs, consolidated technical documents, and integration test plans. May also act as assignment manager for others, responsible for setting objectives, tracking and prioritising work, and providing performance feedback. Will work at a senior level within projects, taking on roles such as Lead Developer, Subject Matter Expert, or Application Designer and potentially on a 24X7 cover basis.

To ensure deliveries have robust risk assessment/mitigation, align to the Technology Change Framework and solutions meet operating principles, in order to protect the Business, whilst continuing to deliver change

To foster and develop partnerships that are acknowledged as value-add, collaborative and inclusive, with internal/external stakeholders and customers. Also encourage others to develop similar relationships.
