Role Overview
The objective of the Lead Development Representative (LDR) is to develop sales-ready leads. The LDR will nurture prospects over time, build trust and rapport that result in a sales-ready lead. Interaction with the prospect involves nurturing activities during which resources and other educational materials are offered (no hard selling or closing). This results in a trusting interaction that speeds up the buying process. Throughout the interaction, the LDR records detailed notes and finds opportunities to ask qualifying questions. Once the prospect is qualified and the timing is ideal, the LDR introduces the right sales personnel to the prospect and the lead is transitioned to the sales force.
REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to build rapport with prospects and transition inquiries over time to the sales force
Strong phone, prospecting, sales, customer service, and interpersonal skills
Identifies and qualifies new opportunities
Coachable to internalize best practices and act on coaching advice
Understands the customer’s environment and introduces new concepts to solve the customer’s problems
Provides qualified sales-ready leads to the field sales organization to further account development/penetration efforts
Maintains forecast and reports forecast to manager
Enters pertinent prospect information into CRM. Updates and expands as interactions occur.
Enhances product knowledge through regularly scheduled training sessions
Attends field sales meetings/trainings as appropriate
2-5 years previous business experience in Inside Sales or warm/cold calling environment
BA/BS preferred
Effective listener to understand prospect needs
Ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders
Establishes and maintains strong relationships with the field sales teams they support
Motivated and result-driven
