Lead Infrastructure Analyst
A major blue-chip London-based client are looking for a Lead Infrastructure Analyst to join their 2nd line support roster.
Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, the position leads a team of 2 other IT infrastructure analysts that are custodians of the IT infrastructure landscape, manage the IT service continuity (BCP, DRP) and the interface with the infrastructure organisation (ITS) and the specialised applications suppliers such as SWIFT.
This role interrelates with multiple applications and support teams to ensure that infrastructure and middleware matters do not adversely affect applications operation and execution.
Role Responsibilities include:
- To manage the IT service continuity of the IT applications portfolio, in particular the design, planning and coordination of the execution of the DRP - Disaster Recovery Plan
- To manage the BCP - Business Continuity Plan
- To administer the promotion of changes to production (both infrastructure application)
- To manage the release management process, including maintaining the status of change requests development, and the communication activities
- To maintain the infrastructure configuration data (CMDB)
- To set up and operate a robust capacity management process
- To administer the SWIFT specific infrastructure
- To own the IT infrastructure landscape and coordinate the management maintenance with the outsourced infrastructure organisation
- To review all infrastructure changes originating from the outsourced infrastructure organisation, and to manage all infrastructure changes
- To follow-up performance monitoring events, and participate in performance improvement projects
- To ensure that knowledge is shared with team members to provide appropriate levels of support coverage
- As team lead, to develop their staff, and to organise the responsibilities and activities
Experience Required:
- Proven experience in managing the provision of infrastructure services, internally or externally
- Substantial experience of managing DRP and BCP
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft Networks.
- Thorough understanding of Citrix thin client solutions.
- Thorough understanding of Intel Windows server technology development.
- Thorough understanding of Unix and Linux server technology development.
Candidates will also be at an advantage if they possess previous line manager experience as well as vendor management experience. Knowledge of SWIFT environments, Microsoft Biztalk, and Database Design would also put candidates at a strong advantage.
