The Role
The firm is looking for the successful Lead Infrastructure Architect to play an instrumental role in the development of continuance of global architecture standards. They will need to provide an expert-level understanding of the appropriate business systems of the business and their associated requirements, to ensure that the accepted best-practice techniques, standards and tools provided are utilised. In this hire, the organisation have outlined the need to hire a professional with enough knowledge to actively promote the benefits of architecture, accepted best-practice techniques, standards and tools to other areas of the firm external suppliers where necessary. The hire will play a pivotal role in the delivery of an architecture roadmap for operational and business solutions, to the extent required by those Asset Class they are working with. In this position, the successful Infrastructure Architect should be able to ensure the highest level of quality for all activities and products within the relevant field of influence by providing a consultancy / advisory role to IT and business teams where appropriate. This will comprise the introduction of new techniques, products, services, technologies, standards where needed, via appropriate channels in agreement with the rest of global architecture. This hire will provide full life-cycle architectural guidance to development teams and ensure the quality of technical deliverables - effectively leading some areas of the group away from the tactical, towards a wider strategic approach to infrastructure consumption. They will contribute to governance standards for architecture involving IT and the business stakeholders, The hire will also need to effectively manage the delivery of services involving elements delivered by other internal/external teams, where appropriate engage / manage relationships with senior stakeholders for assigned architecture deliverables/projects, as well as with third party suppliers. Finally, it would be expected that the right applicant would be in a position to mentor coach less experience members of staff, be able to stay abreast of technology trends in order to advise IT the business about potential benefits/impacts. The Lead Infrastructure Architect will need to ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk adherence to the group's standards of ethical behaviour.Experience skills required in this position will include a university degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience; ITAC Level 1 accreditation already held or to be gained within two years; certification in TOGAF already acquired or pending; well developed ability to prioritise work to successfully deliver service to agreed levels in a diverse constantly changing business environment; a good knowledge of the project life-cycle, and ability to take a risk-based project management approach. The successful Lead Infrastructure Architect will have the capacity to understand interpret complex business / IT requirements, with a demonstrated ability to effectively assess IT trends. They should have proven experience in a business or technical architectural environment, with specialism in several technologies (Network / Server / Storage). The hire will have wide knowledge of IT hardware, software, operations and networks, coupled with a track record of providing architectural guidance and input on complex programmes and projects. They should be strong abilities in leadership, management and motivating IT employees, with proven experience in an IT leadership role; well-developed communication interpersonal skills, including the capacity to articulate the case for IT investments alternatives in the language of business. The hire should also have a proven capacity to prioritise competing demands ability to rapidly build maintain relationships with senior key stakeholders.
Salary Benefits
£95,000-£110,000/Annum + Bonus Benefits (£850-£950/Day)
