Lead Instructional Designer Job in South East England, Southern Uk

Our client, a highly successful provider of e-learning solutions, is seeking an accomplished and experienced Head of Instructional Design to lead a creative team in designing effective e-learning for an enviable client base, including some of the world's best known brands.

Key Responsibilities

• Mentoring and developing an Instructional Design team in the design and creation of high quality e-learning content and solutions
• Demonstrating a knowledge of and conducting ongoing research into advances in e-learning design
• Creating high quality, engaging e-learning and blended learning solutions
• Conducting Training Needs Analysis
• Supporting the development and acquisition of new business by creating effective tender responses and conducting engaging sales presentations in tandem with the sales team
• Playing an active role in the management team in the development of systems and working practices to improve quality, efficiency and profitability
• Being an evangelist for best practice in Instructional Design.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years experience of creating e-learning for major UK and international corporate customers
• A minimum of one year's current experience managing an Instructional Design team in a commercial environment
• Excellent team management skills and relevant experience
• Expertise in the entire Instructional Design lifecycle, including requirements analysis, high level training design and specification, storyboarding and quality assurance
• Excellent knowledge of applied learning theory
• Experience of leading Instructional Design project teams and managing contractors
• Experience of working within a competitive bid environment, helping to win new business by conceptualising compelling training ideas and conducting engaging formal presentations
• A passion for creating technologically innovate learning solutions e.g. mobile, simulation-based and informal learning
• Production based technical knowledge
• Exceptional writing and communication skills
• An eye for detail with the ability to work to challenging deadlines.
