PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Market Research Insights Manager – Global Investment Services NA is responsible for establishing a targeted strategy for the development and usage of research and analytics that generate market and competitive insights to inform and guide business decisions and marketing strategy of the North America region of Global Investment Services.  This includes leading and developing best practices in competitor and product intelligence, market analysis, including country and opportunity analysis, market and prospect segmentation, and customer analysis.  Partner closely with the Head of Global Investment Services - North America and Global Investment Services -NA leadership team on research and analytic agenda and acts as a key strategic partner that supports strategic business planning with Global Investment Services -NA leadership team.  

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                              

Lead and oversee research and analytics and activities in Global Investment Services -North America:Leverages resources on Global Investment Services market research team and shared services to execute qualitative and quantitative research and analytics to support Global Investment Services -NA business initiatives.  Manages the analytical process by providing direction and coordinating the work of those associates with expertise in needed functional areas (e.g. qualitative research, data analytics).  Provides direct oversight to research and analysis projects by developing the research and/or analytic brief and then provides research design advice, data, and analysis.  Integrates the various inputs to identify insights about markets and client needs and behavior with important business implications. Communicates insights in a variety of forms including verbally, short summaries, detailed written reports and presentations.  Dialogues with business unit leadership team about business implications of insights. 

Leads initiatives to experiment intelligently with cutting edge research techniques and pilots.  Establishes standards consistent with organizational and industry practices to fully manage all aspects of a research project.  Lead process that sets and manages the research agenda for Global Investment Services -North America: Partners with the Head of Global Investment Services – North America and the NA leadership team to develop a research and analytic agenda with a focus on insight generation.  Ensures alignment with overall Global Investment Services and TRP Market Research strategy and best practices.  Determines strategy based on deep business knowledge, high-level research expertise, and technical skills.  Maintains a thorough understanding of strategic objectives of the business and how to utilize research and analysis as a tool in achieving these objectives.  Guides and shapes research and competitive intelligence efforts and integrates into the fabric of the organization to deliver business results and support evolving strategic priorities. Works directly with managers or marketing leaders to clearly define the business situation and research objectives and identify appropriate market research needs and techniques 

Identifies and manages external research and data provider vendors. Oversees to ensure work delivered is as high quality as promised.  

Identifies and develops opportunities for research leverage across Global Investment Services and across TRP: Builds and Maintain partnerships with internal contacts to ensure alignment on research priorities and effective integration of insights into business actions and processes.  Actively seeks to identify intersections within regions of Global Investment Services and across business units that create opportunity for TRP.  Works on cross-business unit research projects. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred

• Analytical experience in a financial services firm preferred

• Marketing experience in a financial services firm preferred

• MBAs with experience in management consulting

Required

• College degree and 4 years of related work experience, or

• Associate degree and 6 years related work experience, or

• High School diploma/equivalent and 8 years related work experience

• Insight-generation and consulting skills

• Ability to translate  research and analytics learnings  into actionable recommendations for business growth

• Ability to translate data into meaningful analysis and hypotheses

• Strong analytic skills with ability to direct analysts to ensure analytics activities (mining, modeling) generate insights

• Primary research design and execution, including interviews, focus groups, and surveys including experience with nuances of survey design and how they affect responses, as well as appropriate sample design

• Survey and synthesis of a wide range of secondary sources, including media and research / data services, and experience with relevant tools for scanning and parsing sources of data, such as RSS and associated filtering applications

• Strong communication and leadership skills

• Effective in managing/overseeing a portfolio of projects while delivering results on-time and on-budget

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities; flexible

• Experience with data architectures and tools, and reporting tools

• Experience with vendor management and negotiations
