Role Summary/Purpose
The incumbent of this role is responsible for providing application solutions to the business community and management of multiple projects. Candidate will interface with business analysts, GE Treasury IT, third party vendors to provide solutions using disciplines including but not limited to Database development, Data warehouse and Application scripting

Essential Responsibilities

  • Development of new functionality using variety of tools and languages for a suite of financial applications
  • Lead discussions with development and business teams regarding implementation and design of reporting database(s)
  • Conduct source system analysis and data integration design
  • Identify source data owners and establish a strong working relationship
  • Profile and reverse engineering of source schema/data, identify DQ issues
  • Creates logical data models adhering to data warehouse design principles
  • Ensures that built components adhere to technical designs
  • Performs manual and automated testing, documents test plans and test cases
  • Peer review code and documentation
  • Identify impact on existing model/solution triggered by new/changed requirements
  • Automate system tasks using scripting languages
  • Conduct test of completed work prior to user acceptance testing phase
  • Participate on teams for vendor package implementations ongoing support and maintenance
  • Adhere to the requirements and guidelines of the Treasury System Development Life Cycle in designing and implementing solutions
  • Ensure compliance to, and participate in enhancing documented IT standards
  • Provide leadership to the business in data quality analysis
  • Provide ad hoc support on rotation basis
  • Provide expertise related to standard practices on Data Warehousing, Reporting, OLTP and SOA
  • Identify major areas of systems improvement and drive results

    Qualifications/Requirements
    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT (or related discipline and at least 4 years of previous experience in IT as a developer or architect working with enterprise data)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with Unix
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with programming languages (Java/C#/Python/Perl)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in enterprise Data warehousing technologies

  • Must be able to satisfy the requirements of section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and to identify and resolve project issues quickly and effectively
  • Strong cross-functional team player - demonstrated success coordinating application changes through a diverse, geographically dispersed team structure, including team members, global development contractors (both onshore and offshore),consultants and vendors
  • IT Controllership – Knowledge of IT controllership methodologies and standards and demonstrated experience though project execution compliant with systems development life cycle methodology

    Desired Requirements:

  • Prior exposure to any financial domain applications is highly desirable
  • Broad knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, processes and controls
  • Demonstrated accountability execution fulfillment
  • Strong organizational skills – ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Familiar with agile framework Business Process Management methodologies
  • An enthusiasm for taking responsibility and a passion for knowledge is highly desirable
  • A self-motivated individual who is goal orientated, able to work with minimal supervision and key contributor to the team
