PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Lead Portfolio Analyst is an authoritative resource for investment strategy messaging, analysis and content designed to inform key internal and external stakeholders about T. Rowe Price’s investment portfolios and Investment Management.  The position is responsible for content development and its dissemination across the enterprise.  The Lead Portfolio Analyst position has an enterprise-wide focus, serving as a key interface between Investment Management and the rest of the firm’s Business Units and shared services.  The position is designed to provide maximum leverage to investment management by acting as an internal resource for investment strategies in his/her area of coverage.  The Lead Portfolio Analyst is accountable for providing consistency and quality in investment strategy messaging and communications, reinforcing the T. Rowe Price brand and investment philosophy as he/she supports our client service and sales efforts.   The position is responsible for applying both qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to the job.  

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

Act as an authoritative resource for the assigned investment strategies by building and maintaining deep knowledge of each strategy, its philosophy, process and holdings.  This is done through on-going interaction with the investment staff and portfolio specialists, and through regular participation in investment meetings.  To support this knowledge, the incumbent is also required to execute advanced analysis on a portfolio/strategy using a variety of analytical tools and systems. 

The Lead Portfolio Analyst is the internal spokesperson for an assigned set of investment strategies, preparing investment-oriented content and analysis for client-facing associates which will provide relevant and timely messaging, performance information and investment strategy updates.  Development and preparation of this investment-related content will require an advanced level of quantitative analysis as well as a thorough assessment of qualitative information. The content will be executed in written and/or presentation form and developed in conjunction with the Portfolio Specialist.  This responsibility also includes providing intellectual capital and content for internal web sites and systems designed to support our global business development activities.  

The individual is accountable for maintaining official strategy content across multiple information products including client kits, RFP responses, and client communications (ad hoc and standard).   The incumbent will have the responsibility and authority to direct and impact content changes/updates in presentations and communications designed to support the firm’s global client service and sales efforts. 

Liaise with business units, investment management, and across the shared services groups to maintain knowledge of the investment environment and each business unit’s environment to ensure relevant, consistent content and messaging for the assigned investment strategy set.  Strong relationship skills are required to execute this responsibility.  

Mentor new and junior members of the team (“Portfolio Support”, Associate PPA).
