Job Description Lead Programmer Analyst - Informatica Analyzes, designs, develops, modifies and maintains Enterprise Data warehouse application software. Highly skilled in data warehousing disciplines and testing methodologies. Proficient in software development life cycle (SDLC) and IT change control procedures. Able to organize and assist in leading small to medium scale Application Development efforts, solving complex business needs with technical solutions. Represents team in small and medium size projects that cross team boundaries. Troubleshoots and resolves production support issues quickly, summarizing and reporting results to IT management. Communicates and collaborates effectively within and across team boundaries, including IT management, as appropriate. Provides peer mentoring to junior staff as appropriate. Specific Responsibilities: Experience with software development methodologies and lifecycle processes Assist in leadership for small to medium sized projects, providing work guidance to less experienced associates. Create and maintain ETL procedures in a variety of environments, including UNIX, Windows, Oracle, Teradata, Informatica and SAS. Define, document and execute test cases to effectively validate the new components of the data warehouse being developed, enhanced or otherwise maintained. Effectively analyzes and resolves medium to large, high risk production problems related to assigned applications; assesses alternatives and implements long-term solutions. Successful performance includes demonstrated ownership and timely responses to production problems and business unit inquiries. Define and follow standards for data warehouse. Engage in peer reviews of design and code. Produces appropriate documentation and notifications for changes to production systems or fixes to production problems. Provide support for applications developed and be able to resolve problems encountered. This support is both during normal work hours and off hours, as required, to bring application back into Service Level Agreement times. Follow company problem and change management processes. Mentor to other personnel - provide knowledge transfer as necessary Work with Oracle, Teradata, and Access databases, Brio Query tool, Cognos/TM1 or Hyperion Essbase applications, SAS reporting environment and data quality toolset Participate in oncall production support rotation, as needed. Must possess the ability to work in a team environment and have strong communications skills. Other requirements: College degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. Minimum 7+ years in information technology and minimum with focus data warehouse environment. Ability to work in a large multi-instance, multi-server environment. Overtime expected for both development and support activities Willingness to learn the tools not presently understood. Telecommunications billing and customer care systems experience a plus. Experience with fast-paced, time-constrained development teams. Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a team environment. Must be detail oriented and self-managing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills, both technical and user focused. Demonstrated ability to form constructive opinions and communicate them. Demonstrated passion for creativity, finding new business solutions.
