Job Duties:
Resolve production systems problems, providing and ensuring a secure control environment for all production applications libraries and data files for WINS NBS application (a processing system for insurance companies). Duties include: implement manual and automated systems; analyze and tune application systems for optimum online and batch performance; prepare program specifications from business requirements; code and test programs and procedures; review Change Control procedures and updates as required; move programs and files to production status insuring accuracy of data and files; prepare system documentation for application systems; provide technical training and support for other programmers; perform feasibility studies and project definition activities; establish, update and follow work standards and procedures for processes and products; work closely with Systems Programming staff in monitoring of the production systems.; review system software changes and their impact on product systems; lead and plan projects and perform other programming duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, IT, or Math plus 5 years progressive experience with insurance related WINS NBS application using Cobol/400.
