Position Description:
Your role will be to develop, implement and control the project accounting and job costing systems to meet project requirements. So a strong Project Management background would be beneficial in this regard.
You will manage the Cost Controls with a focus on delivering best customer results. The reason for multiple cost controller roles stems from our client’s exceptional growth and diverse product range. So you will need to fit this culture of growth and be proactive in your approach.
Integrity of data is paramount to being successful in this role. Preparing monthly financial reports, financial analysis, budgets and financial controls – including controlling authorisations of expenditure and cash flow projections.
You will be a leader, in that you will need to supervise supporting roles in the Project Control area. And you will be client facing – liaising with clients to clarify cost related issues and to develop timely and meaningful monthly invoices. This will be done in conjunction with the accounts department.
Being hands on will enable you to interact with multiple stakeholders to develop Project Forecasts as well as analyse costs in this regard. You will also interface with engineering and construction team members in the preparation of budgets. It will be your responsibility to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between all relevant team members, particularly with relation to costs and planning.
Minimum Requirements:
10yrs+ heavy industry experience
Suitably qualified for a Cost Controller role in this Engineering field
Project Management Systems knowledge (ideally SAP)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
