Overview:
The Fixed Income Systems team is responsible for providing front-office Information Services capabilities to Wellington's Fixed Income Investment teams. The team plays a critical role in our firm's success by providing technical solutions which improve the efficiency, speed and quality of the highly complex investment decision-making process.

As a member of the Fixed Income Systems team, this individual will be responsible for solutions delivery for Fixed Income Investment business. A Lead Software Engineer is expected to:
•Lead delivery of high quality business solutions;
•Interface and coordinate with the broad Information Services teams to ensure successful delivery;
•Demonstrate strong project management and leadership skills with ability to handle multiple activities in a dynamic fast paced environment.

Responsibilities:
•Interact with Systems Analysts and Investment professionals at all levels of the organization as needed, to proactively identify opportunities for new/improved systems to improve the investment process.
•Lead the implementation of business solutions in conjunction with the technical development.
•Perform gap analysis between investment process and existing systems
•Lead and establish effective processes for productive partnership with offshore technical teams.
•Lead implementation of business process improvements involving (but not limited to) investment process efficiency, data quality improvements and simplifying investor work flow.

Qualifications:
Technical Requirements:
•Minimum of nine years of hands-on design and development experience in commercial environments
•Demonstrated experience developing J2EE applications using JDBC, JNDI, JMS and other related technologies like Swing, RCP, etc. At least three years of experience in use of these technologies is preferred.
•Demonstrated experience developing Web applications using JSP, AJAX, SPRING, Web Services and other related technologies (HTML5, etc).
•Demonstrated expertise in relational database technologies with strong SQL and Excel/VBA programming skills.
•Demonstrated experience with Excel/VBA, PERL, XML and UNIX/Linux
•Knowledge of common design patterns and their application
•Experience with, and demonstrated understanding of modern software development and testing methodologies.

Non - technical requirements:
•Degree in Computer Science or directly related field
•Excellent written and verbal communications skills
•Willingness to work independently in an energetic, fast-paced, business-critical and team oriented-environment
•CFA or working towards CFA is a strong plus.
•Demonstrated experience in problem-solving skills and delivery of quality solutions with good mathematical acumen.
•A strong team player, with ability to work in collaboration across teams.
