Lead Telecommunications Analyst

HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW:

Monitor, maintain, analyze and perform tasks necessary to ensure the telecommunication/network systems are operating at optimum efficiency. This includes configuring, diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades, of all telephone systems and voice related adjunct systems at various locations. Perform equipment moves, additions, changes and troubleshooting to satisfy business voice operation requirements.
Responsible for managing, troubleshooting all voice facility related service order requests and perform all associated tasks. This may include design and implementation of voice facilities that terminate into the AVAYA PBX at all PHH sites and business partners.

May also lead or participate in research, analysis and implementation of data communication transport orders to any of our many locations. This activity includes, but not limited to the ordering and coordination of these services to various endpoints that are either a business partner or client location(s). May also be asked to lead or assist in vendor trouble escalations for both voice and data services.

Responsible for senior level system administration activities tied to daily work as well as special projects.

May assist in design. planning and implementation of voice communications systems/networks. Additional activities may include developing and evaluating RFQs and vendor selection criteria for new telecommunications solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Monitor, report, and analyze traffic conditions for all facilities delivered into all PHH PBX locations.
2. Evaluate performance issues and modify routing as needed to accommodate changes in call volume.
3. Initiate trouble reports for all facilities. Where transport terminates into our PBX responsibilities include trouble shooting and testing to service restoral.
4. Provide support for troubleshooting telecommunications software and/or interactions with adjunct equipment.
5. Responsible for logging, tracking, closing out and maintaining vendor trouble ticket database.
6. Develop recommendations for facility changes as needed due to changes in business requirements.
7. Manage all telecommunication vendor related issues.
8. Assist team members as required on changes or moves.
9. Provide Level 2 3 service desk support for various customer/system related issues complete service requests as necessary. Maintain all required inventory database records.
10. Develop and maintain documented procedures for the effective management of the telecommunications infrastructure.
11. Provide and update all documentation as it relates to system design, and facility routing for all PBX locations.
12. Manage the network circuit inventory on our private vendor provided IOS / SONET Ring.
13. Utilize appropriate Project Management methodology as required for each project.
14. Document changes to the network in accordance with established change control practices.
15. Meet SLA requirement on all Telecom Level 2 SRS and Service Desk tickets in accordance with established service levels.
16. Performs related duties as assigned or requested.
17. Be prepared to implement, test, and evaluate new transport services as needed.
18. May act as a Telecom Lead/Project Manager when needed in support of system implementations directed by the Unified Communications team.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

1. Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Management preferred or equivalent combination of education and 7+ years of experience within the telecommunications field.
2. Extensive Avaya systems knowledge including 5+ years experience required specializing in dial plan design, configuration and support.
3. Avaya certifications a plus.
4. Highly motivated and self-directed individual with a CAN-DO attitude.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary as the position requires interfacing with both internal and external customers.
6. Willing to go above and beyond basic job responsibilities when necessary to meet business objectives.
7. Strong knowledge of various voice and data transport technology required to design, procure, configure and implement these services.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite software programs including Visio.
9. Excellent customer services and organizational skills
10. Ability to interface well with team members, customers and vendors
11. Knowledge with the client administration of a private SONET infrastructure a plus
12. Strong analytical and problem solving skills are essential along with the ability to express complex technical concepts effectively both verbally and written
13. Experience with enterprise voice using IPT VoIP technologies preferred
14. Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
15. Desire and willingness to continuously learn new technologies, tools and methodologies.
16. Ability to multi-task and work well under high pressure situations.
17. Provide mentoring / training to new team members in system level design and implementation
18. Ability to successfully lead and work on multiple high priority initiatives with aggressive timelines in a results oriented environment.
19. Ability to travel occasionally.
