Lead Windows Server Systems Administrator Job in Edmonton, Alberta Canada

Our Edmonton Sales and Solutions Team of COBALT Business Systems has an immediate opening for a full-time Lead Windows Server Systems Administrator. Working within a small professional office setting, the ideal candidate will have a friendly, outgoing, and professional approach, supported by an aptitude for delivering excellent service in a team environment.

 

As an Information Systems Professional, you will have proven skill in supporting customers, demonstrated by proven technical expertise and further demonstrated through excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to deal with contacts at all levels. The successful candidate will have a track record of responsive work habits which include being efficient, thorough, dependable, independent, and organized.

 

COBALT offers a highly competitive, flexible compensation package based on qualifications and experience. Salary range for this position is $60k-$80k.

 

Position Description:

 

*        As a Lead Windows Server Systems Administrator, you would have 1 to 3 staff to assist you in managing and executing projects and day to day troubleshooting and maintenance jobs for our internal cloud computing environment and our client's networks as required.  In this role, you will be relied upon to provide mentoring and direction to staff with direction from the managing personal of the organization

 

*        You will also use our newly-acquired MSP (PacketTrap) for maintenance troubleshooting, as well as Professional Service Automation software (ConnectWise) for recording and time tracking

 

*        Planning and performing installations and upgrades of Windows Servers, using Windows Server OS (virtual physical), Exchange, Sharepoint, SQL, etc.

 

*        Implementation of firewalls and other network appliances as required

 

*        Perform installations and upgrades of existing server and workstation systems

 

*        Troubleshoot and support of Windows-based servers, workstations, and periodically, desktops, printers, and other peripheral devices

 

*        Enforce security practices and procedures; monitor and apply related security and virus updates

 

Qualifications:

 

*            Microsoft Certified Professional and have or actively pursuing their MCSE certification

 

*            5 to 7 years Microsoft Server OS experience, including at least 1 year in Lead position

 

*            CISCO certifications and experience a definite asset

 

*            B.Sc. degree or 2 year diploma in an IT related field from a recognized university or college

 

*            5 to 10 years' experience in the Information Technology industry

 

*            Must be customer driven, excel at creative problem solving, and have very good oral and written English communication skills

 

*            Experience creating and maintaining documentation related to work

 

*            Candidate must also show willingness to keep current with emerging technologies through ongoing education

*            Must have the flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required

 

*            Valid driver's license and own vehicle required

 

*            Reside in the greater Edmonton region or willing to relocate
