FanSided started with Arrowhead Addict, a Kansas City Chiefs blog, back in April of 2007. Five years later, a simple website collaboration between two brothers has blossomed into the FanSided empire — a company of over 250 regional sports sites hellbent on giving fans the most in-depth sports coverage they can't get anywhere else.
We've recently launched an iOS app, customizable daily email newsletter, and have branched out to cover entertainment and lifestyle on FanSided.com. It's sports and entertainment fit for the pub!
In this role you will:
- Design, implement, and maintain high-volume sports products using multiple languages including but not limited to: PHP, javascript, MYSQL, CSS, HTML5
- You’ll work directly underneath the Chief Product Officer to assist in the development of products from our team sites, to mobile apps, to our daily email newsletter
- You’ll be working in a lean, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Work from home, on your own schedule, meeting once weekly in a co-working space with the rest of the team
You will be responsible for:
- Creating elegant UI experiences with CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery that are backwards compatible and accessible
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining high-volume products using multiple languages
- Rapidly fixing bugs and solving problems
- Working directly with Chief Product Officer and other members of the development team to develop a plan of attack and timeline for your own projects
- Pro-actively look for ways to make FanSided better
