Leading Fund Manager Hiring Quantitative/ Qualitative Analysts – CT

Role:-

 

Your role will involve leading a team of 2-3 investment analysts responsible for the construction and oversight of the company’s investment process.

 

You will be responsible for analyzing client portfolio positions and returns across a broad array of asset classes and investment strategies to ensure the company’s  views on markets are expressed well in client portfolios and achieving client objectives.

 

You will analyze quality, cost and speed of trade execution across asset classes , instruments and counterparties to ensure that trades are being executed well.

 

You will identify and assess opportunities for improving the company’s management of portfolios.

 

This is a role that encompasses a broad range of requirements and you will be asked to sort out a lot of issues for the desk.

This role will also involve you to be client facing.

 

Requirements:-

 

A Bachelors degree from a competitive school with a strong academic and extracurricular track record. A PhD in a hard science such a engineering, finance, economics would be a significant plus from a top school. MBA candidates with a previous hard science background will also be considered.  They are looking for the top 1% of candidates who have an impeccable resume  so red brick Universities are essential.

 

You must have 2-4 years of experience in a highly analytical quant analyst role either working as a sell side desk quant or within asset management or as a buy side quant. Ideally , you will have managed at least a few analysts within your career. If you have not managed other analysts, maybe you are at that point in your career where you will manage other analysts next year and have just received a promotion. You will ideally be a derivatives quant with 2- 4 years of experience working  in an investment bank or another fund , looking for a step up in terms of  a role and responsibility. Statistical quants , with the same number of years of experience, will also be considered.

 

They are not looking for candidates who have more than 4 years of experience for this particular role.

 

You must be able to demonstrate a personal interest in the markets and investing. This is of great importance for this role. Interviews will focus on talking about your own portfolio and what you have been doing

You should have the ability to  lead problem-solving on the complex and open-ended investment questions and have the skills to mentor and coach junior analysts.

 

Common sense is required to be able to transfer knowledge base to a variety of tasks.

 

Programming skills are not essential for this role .

 

 

You must be a flexible thinker and this will be investigated throughout the interview process.

 

They are looking for a combination of quantitative ability as well as qualitative ability. They want a person who can talk just as easily about political events and recent events as they would about how they would value an option.

Communication skills and confidence is fundamental as they are looking for a person who can be put in front of clients also , not a person who sits and crunches numbers all day .

 

 

 

Interviews will be conducted immediately as this is an urgent requirement. Initial interviews will focus on open ended questions which demonstrate how you think and come to conclusions rather than focusing on the technical side straightaway.
