Job Summary: The Learning Coach provides ongoing student and parent support to insure student engagement, academic success and retention. This person is responsible for identifying students who are struggling in the program and utilizing program resources and engagement strategies that will improve student performance. It is imperative that the Learning Coach develops a rapport with students and parents and demonstrates a positive outlook on student performance and potential

Job Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
• Initiate continual outreach to families to communicate student progress.
• Conduct study strategy Elluminate sessions with groups of students to develop online learning skills.
• Work with students to create a personalized study plan with monthly goal-setting to insure they stay on pace.
• Collaborate with Guidance Counselor, Program Manager, Specialists and Homeroom Teachers to deliver strategies that will improve student engagement and academic success.
• Provide student support in navigating within the Blackboard and Elluminate systems.
• Maintain student/parent communications log.
• Participate in student recruitment and retention activities/events to develop a rapport with students.
• Enter data accurately into student data systems.
• Utilize strong problem solving and presentation skills
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Experience and Education:
• Minimum of 2 years of college; 4 year college degree preferred
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in customer service or student support
• Experience working with middle and high-school age students

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Power Point
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong level of attention to detail is essential
• Self-Starter
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A commitment to helping students be successful in the online school environment
