SkillSoft is currently seeking an experienced learning professional to join our Consulting Services Team as a Learning Consultant.

Our Learning Consultants work remotely from home offices.

Ideally we are seeking talent in the San Francisco area for this opportunity.

The SkillSoft Learning Consultant is an industry expert in the implementation of e-Learning solutions. 

Learning Consultants consult with clients regarding program development, organizational readiness, marketing strategies, and return on investment.

The Learning Consultants client base will consist of a geographic territory, which also aligns with a specific SkillSoft Regional Sales Team.

Position Responsibilities Include:

Systematically applies the SkillSoft Strategic Implementation Process and is expected to become certified in the process

Support, consult and provide best practices to 20-30 customers within geography of the territory.  May be assigned one or more major/global customers within geography

Meet regularly with customers to review business needs, program initiatives, success criteria, goals and value measurement

Works closely with sales team to achieve SkillSoft sales goals and with the client’s e-Learning project team to achieve the agreed upon customer business objectives

Supports SkillSoft sales by ensuring success of client e-learning programs which positions SkillSoft for additional business opportunities 

Proactively work with customers to drive utilization using marketing strategies

Provides SkillSoft with a true market differentiator by providing proactive support, consultation and customer satisfaction

Contribute directly to building customer capital, goodwill, and loyalty 

Provide presales support as determined by manager within geography of the territory

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Strong knowledge of the e-Learning Industry, with the ability to articulate its features and benefits, including understanding of the customer's business drivers

Strong background in learning and development, with an understanding of talent management, performance management and human resources as they apply to learning implementations and business strategy

Expert product knowledge in SkillSoft content, learning design and technology

Comprehensive understanding of business skills and competency development and their relevance to the organization's training needs.  Continually expands knowledge of various business skill content areas as they are incorporated into the SkillSoft library

Good conceptual knowledge of current IT and Desktop technology.  Ability to advise clients on IT and Desktop curricula choices, based on the SkillSoft technical library.  Keeps up to date on new technology trends and may make recommendations to SkillSoft development on client content needs

Understanding of common web technologies (browsers, HTML, JavaScript, etc.)

Understanding of Internet, Client Server technologies, Internetworking concepts (firewalls, communications protocols, and proxy servers)

Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Excellent consulting, listening and communication skills, evidenced by the ability to establish working relationships at all levels of the customer project team

Excellent presentation skills, both virtual and live, in large and small group settings

Excellent facilitation skills for meetings and group activities, both virtual and live, demonstrating the ability to guide groups, and listen and question effectively

Excellent written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to write with purpose, clarity, and accuracy

Effective project management and organizational skills, specifically managing multiple concurrent projects

Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills, applied with a solution-focused attitude

Strong self-directed work habits, exhibiting initiative, drive, creativity, self-assurance and professionalism

Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to act as a strategic partner to the client and the sales team

Corporate and/or IT Training, Organizational Development or consulting experience with account management responsibility

Intermediate skills in Word, Outlook, PowerPoint

Advanced skills in MS Excel
