The successful candidate will work primarily with one of our senior partners and be responsible for handling legal and administrative work relating to incorporations, amalgamations, corporate reorganizations, and registration of trade marks.   In addition, he/she will be expected to assist with general commercial transactions and provide back up support for financing transactions involving real estate conveyancing when required.

 

Responsibilities include:

·         The ability to work independently on all matters involving the preparation of standard and  legal documents pertaining to incorporations, amalgamation, organization and reorganizations, revivals, dissolutions, annual and special meetings, and annual resolutions of corporations;

·         Collaborative work with counsel on various tax and general commercial transactions such as crystallizations, exchanges and rollovers and to support and assist with asset/share sales and/or purchases;

·         Directly liaise with clients, financial institutions, accountants and law firms to advance matters and resolve issues as required;

·         Implementation and maintenance of all corporate systems and corporate minute books and records;

·         Performance of administrative work related to files including opening of files, preparation of accounts and client billings, processing of  payments, closing files and maintaining an active  filing system.
