As a Legal Assistant in our foreclosure/bankruptcy practice areas, this position will utilize administrative skills to provide support to attorneys with handling routine legal matters. This position is responsible for preparing and prioritizing documents and data on a daily basis supporting the processing functions of various departments within the firm. The position requires attention to effective verbal and written communication skills, detail, above average typing speed and accuracy, and good concentration levels. The Legal Assistant will be held accountable for meeting specific production standards as set by the firm that reflect critical quality and success factors as defined by our clients, as well as the law firm and department management. Working with attorneys and management, the legal assistant will ensure progress related to key metrics and report on the success of achieving specified goals.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve and process data, documentation and reports from client systems.
- Ensure that attorneys, management and clients are aware of the correct status of all pending tasks through proper use of the case management systems.
- Contribute to team effort by through timely and accurate completion of tasks and assigned projects.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Add value to department and organization by seeking out additional tasks or participating in projects when the opportunity is available.
- Communicate with clients professionally and courteously through written, verbal or electronic communications.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients.
- Any other task as assigned by the management team.
Productivity Levels
Each legal assistant is expected to adhere to production standards assessed for the assigned department and position. As efficiency is improved and production time is reduced production standards will be modified.
Qualifications
EDUCATION WORK EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma required.
• Bachelor’s Degree desirable.
• Three to five years of work experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
· Attentive to detail and ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
· Proficient with Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
· Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
· Overall positive attitude and willingness to adapt to change.
· Must possess good organizational skills.
· Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
· Excellent customer service abilities and interpersonal skills.
· Must be a team player and willing to provide assistance in multiple areas as necessary.
